33 Automobile Technology Competitors have seven different tasks in this category. These cover the seven most important car systems. Competitors should be able to understand the functioning of these systems, and carry out troubleshooting, maintenance and repair work. Competitors must be able to work logically and systematically, adhering to the health and safety regulations. As Volvo will be one of the main sponsors for WorldSkills 2005, all tasks will be based on Volvo's products. Competition tasks: - Diesel engine systems

The competition tasks include practical work only. However, theoretical knowledge will be necessary in order to complete the tasks correctly. The time allocated to the project will be around 21 hours, which will be divided between seven tasks. After the event, competitors will receive individual face-to-face feedback from the judges. The panel of judges will include specialists within their field, led by a top expert. Competitors are mainly qualified Vehicle Mechanics.
