International Village

The International Village is an exhibition area, meeting place and seminar program where WorldSkills members and affiliated organisations and company can demonstrate, discuss and present ideas and information on topics relating to their interest and involvment in technical and vocational education and training and skills competitions.
The Global Skills Village is held in in the Congress Hall C1 with exhibition stands from 17 different countries and a constant stream of seminars in Congress Hall C2

Programme stage

At the International Village in C1 there is a stage, where different kind of programme will be performed during the Global Skills Village opening hours. The programme on the stage is e.g.

  • Ceremonies of prize-giving of the Skills demonstrations
  • Music by Helsinki Pop Jazz Conservatory
  • Circus performances by Lahti College of Arts and Craft
  • Music and dance performances by Cultural and Sports Association of Finnish Vocational Education
  • Fashion Shows by Helsinki City College of Culinary Art, Fashion and Beauty
  • Dance Performances by Keskuspuisto Vocational Institute
  • Mobile Robotics demonstrations by Skills Netherlands and FESTO Finland
  • Youth Skills Sweden presentation on their application for WorldSkills 2011

Seminars

There will be 16 seminars and discussion forums in the Global Skills Village during the competition days. All seminars take place in the Seminar room, C2. All seminars are open to the public.

Seminar opening hours and tickets

  • Thurday 26th May 10 am -18 pm
  • Friday 27th May 9 am -18 pm
  • Saturday 28th May 9 am -18 pm
  • Sunday 29th May 9 am -17 pm

Opening Ceremony of the Global Skills Village takes place 26th May at noon.

Tickets to the WorldSkills 2005 Helsinki also include admission to the Global Skills Village.
