As far as taking photos in Melbourne goes there aren't any picturesque waterfalls or mountainous peaks to photograph but the built environment there is very nice. There are lots of nice old buildings, and interesting new ones for that matter. You could try Flinders St Station and Federation Square, and numerous other buildings downtown. There are plenty of interesting people doing interesting things down in the suburb of St Kilda and the Melbourne Botanical Gardens are full of interesting tree's, plants and flowers.
I'm sure you'll find plenty of opportunities to take photos. At the very least I'm sure the other WorldSkills Youth Forum participants are just dying to get in front of lense and be 'captured' by the master artist from Singapore, Kian Ann :-)Nick Yatestag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18473677.post-1140923570340630712006-02-26T14:12:00.000+11:002006-02-26T14:12:00.000+11:00Hi Kian!Just looked at some of your photos and i m...Hi Kian!

Just looked at some of your photos and i must say, they're not bad for someone who only dabbles in photography. I suppose it makes it easier when you're working with such beautiful scenery.
I don't really know of any places in Melbourne, i've only been there twice and i didn't have much time to look around. Maybe you could head to That's Melbourne for some inspiration. (It also tells you the best places to shop ;-P)

Cheers
Bec :-)Bectag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18473677.post-1140768998901150152006-02-24T19:16:00.000+11:002006-02-24T19:16:00.000+11:00Hey Nick,Haha.. I'm really waiting for my current laptop to "be on the verge of death" before I bring it to a trek so if it drops into the river I will not be so heartbroken. ;P

I really just dabble in photography. Can catch some of my photos here! Its nowhere compared to a professional photographer. Looking forward to get some nice shots of Melbourne though! Do you take your laptop trekking with you so you can study and do business whilst you pursue all these activities? It sounds like you would have to! :-)
What sorts of things do you like taking photos of? I think Kian sohuld post some of the photos he has taken recently, what does everyone else think?
If you want to see what happens when Kian "dabbles in photography" how about you post something here asking him to post a link so we can take a look.

NickNick Yates
