I am so far away from most parts of Canada that even people in my own country are sometimes surprised to know where I come from.

I go to school in Ottawa, Ontario (About 3000km in a straight line from where I come from to here), where our parliament is located. I am taking software engineering at a university in Ottawa. Both French and English are spoken in Ottawa, but I can really only say I speak English.

I competed in the 2005 world skills competition in Web Design. I've been to Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal, but not Halifax. Two of those places I have been flown to by skills canada (Vancouver for a national competition and Montreal as a meeting point to continue on to Finland for the WorldSkills competition).Chris Fourniertag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18473677.post-1141670828321042752006-03-07T05:47:00.000+11:002006-03-07T05:47:00.000+11:00Hello allI'm from Calgary, in the prairie west of ...Hello all

I'm from Calgary, in the prairie west of canada.

I competed in the 2005 competition. I've spent some time in Halifax, Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. What a beautiful country you have.
Now for the important questions: Catherine, when in Halifax, I became addicted to an East Coast pastry by the name of 'Beaver Tails'. I've tried many times to cook these for myself and failed miserably every time. Are you skilled in the ancient Canadian art of Beaver Tail cooking? If so, could you please hide some in your bag so that I may eat one when you arrive? I promise you a big Vegemite sandwich in return.
NickNick Yates
