I'm 22 years old and I participated in the 38th World Skills Olympics as a competitor of Ladies' Dressmaking. But I'm sorry to say that I can't recognize even a single familier face in here. Maybe it's because during the competion period I was too worried about my work that I couldn't get a peaceful mind to look around me and make friends with others. So I'm glad I can meet you again and even seniors!!
It's really wonderful to be able to meet people from many countries and share the experiences!
Here's a picture of mine..and I also want to introduce you my lovely friend Bo-ri.
Since I'm living alone in my house very far away from my hometown Bori has been a great mate to me.(I want to take her to Melbourne...but I'm sure it won't be possible..^^)In't she lovely?
You are always welcome to my mini-hompage ==>www.cyworld.com/hokykim (I'm not sure if you can open it..it's Korean Version) There are some pictures of me and my friends!!
I'm so excited about meeting you all in may!

#And tell me how is the weather like in Melbourne in May? The flight was 24 hours long! We stoped at Singapore, so I thought I would see the city from the plane... But unfortunatly it's was the night for them so everything was black and I saw nothing!

Today is the 6th, So in one month I'll meet you all! Before the Forum, I'm staying in Shepparton for 4 weeks. There are 2 hours by car between Shepparton and Melbourne. I'm doing a work placement in graphic design in a NewsPaper.

Autumn is starting in Australia, but don't worry, the weather is nicer than in Europe! The sky is almost blue all the time and it's around 20 degrees. People here, say it's cold, but actually it's nice! They don't realise how lucky they are ;-)

I don't have a video of me, instead here is a picture I took in Shepparton, Australia on the 3rd of April at 6:00 pm... a nice sunset...http://worldskillsyouthforum.blogspot.com/2006/04/florence-has-arrived-in-australia.htmlWorldSkills Youth Forumtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18473677.post-114419267708407415Tue, 04 Apr 2006 23:17:00 +00002006-04-05T11:21:19.333+10:00Katri at work!
In place of her video submission, Katri has sent us a photo of her at work. How about adding one or 2 computer stations where we can
have interactive flash display or games so that the visitors can
understand better each trades role in the industry or in everyday lives?

For example, for IT/PC network support we could have a short flash that
introduces how the internet, emails get to their homes? Coupled with an
interactive flash game for them to connect their virtual home to the
internet and see how they interact with the whole. If we can have 2
stations, we can somewhat put the 2 computers at 2 ends of the trade area.
At the end of the game the visitors can chat with each other, see each
other through webcam. During the process they will understand how their
video, data is sent through the internet; which IT/PC Network Support
trade people 'in between built' and see the end results.

Thanks and Regards
Viridishttp://worldskillsyouthforum.blogspot.com/2006/03/visiting-competition-arena-viridis.htmlWorldSkills Youth Forumtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18473677.post-114171167844797378Tue, 07 Mar 2006 06:04:00 +00002006-03-07T17:08:55.086+11:00Kian Ann wants to discuss an issue
Kian Ann has nominated the following topic for discussion, please add your comments / feedback or start your own discussion.... looking forward to hearing all of the bright ideas from this brilliant group!

Just to kick start a topic for discussion:

I was thinking, how can we make the WorldSkills competition better? Competitors for WorldSkills are very unique individuals - each are already champions of their own country! Some have already went through rounds and rounds of internal/national competitions and assessment before a decision was made to send them to WorldSkills.

One point that I personally feel that can be improved could be more time for the competitors in the same trade to network after competitions! It would be wonderful if these people can get to know each other better - imagine having a network of experts round the world to ask for advice! Maybe what could be done is to create a opt-in mailing list for every trade every time the competition is held?

Of course, this youth forum is also a great start! What do you all think?http://worldskillsyouthforum.blogspot.com/2006/03/kian-ann-wants-to-discuss-issue.htmlWorldSkills Youth Forumtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18473677.post-114162026966402719Mon, 06 Mar 2006 04:42:00 +00002006-03-07T11:46:45.110+11:00FRANCE - Welcome Anthony Daviet
Candidate in SEOUL - Plumbing (n°15)
I am the Président of the Association of the old compétitors of France and i am 24 years old. I am currently heavily involved in tool design and detailed drafting.

In 2001 I competed in World Skills in Seoul, South Korea. I was a member of the MTC team which was fortunate enough to bring home the gold. It was an awesome experience and I look forward to the Youth Forum in Melbourne so we can better the experience of World Skills for all involved.http://worldskillsyouthforum.blogspot.com/2006/03/other-facilitator-ben-irwin.htmlWorldSkills Youth Forumtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18473677.post-114126563453997729Thu, 02 Mar 2006 02:08:00 +00002006-03-02T13:13:54.553+11:00HONG KONG - Introducing Patrick

Hi , I am Patrick from Hong Kong.

I have participated in WorldSkills 2003 @ St. Gallen – IT/PC Network Support.

I am now working as a IT –system consultant .
