Skill explained

The Sheet Metal Technologist is often required to use computer design and drafting software to develop patterns and programmes and then fabricate products utilising CNC controlled Punching, Laser/Plasma, waterjet cutting systems and CNC bending equipment combined with hand forming and finishing processes. They fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal products. They are employed by sheet metal fabrication shops, sheet metal products manufacturing companies for items such as ventilation equipment, catering and food processing equipment, and sheet metal work contractors.
