"Bricklayers work on commercial and residential projects where they lay bricks, block stone, glass block or terracotta to build interior and exterior walls, partitions, fireplaces, chimneys, smokestacks and other structures. Bricklaying is a very physical occupation where you usually work outdoors. There is great variety in the work and you get to work in many different locations on a lot of different types of work, because each project is unique. A good bricklayer can also usually find work in almost any country in the world. The work is very rewarding as the evidence of your work is there at the end of each day. There is also a lot of responsibility to do good work because the brickwork is often the most visual aspect of the structures. " Required skills

The Test Project includes the construction of brick walls or surfaces of facing bricks and blocks of different materials. For example, decorative brickwork with projections and recesses in all possible bonds, sections of walls with segmental, semi-circular, triangular, 3 centre, flat, Gothic arches, curved walls, cavity walls as well as rendering to provide a smooth finish by use of sand, lime, cement, and paving with natural or artificial materials."
