Competition for Secondary Schools
Festo Didactic HK organised a Pneumatic Competition for the students
of secondary schools. The first section of the competition was held at
Festo Ltd on Saturday 28 June 2003.
The final was on Saturday 12 July 2003 at IVE Tsing Yi campus.
This event is a joint venture with IVE Tsing Yi. It is divided into
three parts.
1. Fluidsim to develop
pneumatic circuit.
2. Festo Pneumatic items for the circuit assembly.
3. Pneumatic circuit - trouble shooting.
Who takes part?
There are eleven teams - a total of 22 children - in the competition.
We had 11 judges in the first round of the competition - mostly
teachers of the secondary schools. We also invited the following VIPs
to be the Guest Panel to support the event.

They also help in the final
assessment.
How were the competitors selected?
The competition was planned in February. Competitors must apply to
Festo through their teacher - they represent their secondary school.
So the students are selected by their teachers who then register for
the competition.
What can they win?
Prizes were prepared for the top 3 teams. In addition, each students
received a certificate issued by Festo and IVE. Souvenirs were given
to each Judges and Guest Panels.
Results of the first section?
8 teams were selected to go on to the finals on 12 July 2003. The top
3 teams will be the winners.
