USA for WorldSkills St Gallen
Casey Calouette and Allen Stenzel |
Based on our second training meeting that took place last week at Alexandria Technical College, it gives me great pleasure in announcing the two competitors that will represent the United States at the 2003 WorldSkills Olympics in St. Gallen, Switzerland. The competitors will be Allen Stenzel and Casey Calouette. Allen is a recent graduate of Central Community College in Columbus, Nebraska. Casey Calouette is finishing his degree at the Bay Automation Center at Bay de Noc Community College in Escanaba, Michigan Both men will travel to Washington DC and then on to St. Gallen in early June. Opening ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, June 18th, and the competition runs from Thursday June 19th through Sunday, June 22nd. The Closing Ceremonies take place on Wednesday, June 25th. The decision was reached unanimously based on observations of the candidate's work abilities and interviews held with each candidate. This is the first time that the United States will be represented in the Mechatronics Event at the World Skills Competition. We wish them the best of luck. (contributed by Dan Blanck) |
