On
Thursday 10 February 2000, the German Team (experts and competitors) visited the German
Chancellor Gerd Schröder in the provisional Kanzleramt in Berlin. The Chancellor was
asked to present Tobias Wiedenmann (extremeleft) and Jörn Stock (centre) with bronze
busts of Quebec Indians. He was then presented with small present box containg a golden
Canadian maple leaf brooch for his wife. He joked that he would have to surrender it to
the Treasury. We told him that it was purposely harmless - yet still delightful. As you
see in the picture, he agreed. |
