Amanda Luisa launched I CAN make shoes in 2010 to offer workshops in hand-made shoes and sandals, up-cycling and shoe design.
After many successful years as a shoemaker in Australia, Amanda developed modern methods of shoe making. These methods incorporate the same quality and strength of more traditionally made shoes, only without the use of heavy machinery.
This approach to shoe making gave her the freedom to start making shoes from home, which then prompted her to develop these skills into a variety of London based Shoe Making Workshops. I CAN make shoes has quickly expanded to offer a range of bespoke shoe making services.
Amanda says: "Being a Worldskills London 2011 Ambassador is so exciting to me. I have always believed that with the right skills nothing is impossible, and to be able to share those skills and support those who want to learn is really inspiring"
