All about the Competition
Held every two years, the WorldSkills Competition is the world's largest professional education event. Competitors from over 60 countries and regions in the Americas, Europe, Asia, South Pacific and Africa simulate challenges of professions that must be met within international standards of quality. They demonstrate individual and collective technical skills to perform specific tasks for each of the professional skills.
The site hosting WorldSkills São Paulo 2015 in Brazil is one of the largest conference centres in Latin America. With more than 400,000 square metres in total area, Anhembi holds 30% of the top events held in Brazil and 55% of those carried out in the Southeast region of the country. The complex receives more than 12 million people annually for more than 1,000 events - from conferences, trade shows, sports and cultural presentations of all sizes and genres taking place in its spaces.
The Competition Rules define the resolutions and rules for the organization and execution of the WorldSkills Competition incorporating all skill competitions. They are updated by the Technical Committee and are ratified by the General Assembly.
