Hong Kong Youth Skill Competition 2004 - Mechatronics

Along with twenty-four other trade competitions, the Mechatronics Competition was completed successfully in November 2004.

Invitations and publicity materials were sent out to all technical schools, appropriate vocational bodies and tertiary education institutions in early 2004.

Candidates who had signed up for the competition were offered preliminary training by means of CDs and web-based materials prior to the screening test, which was held in September 2004. Candidates who achieved a benchmark competence in the theory section went of for further training for the final, which was then held at the Chai Wan Campus of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (HKIVE) in November 2004.

The winners of the Mechatronics Competition were:
Champion – LO Ho Chuen, HKIVE(Chai Wan)
First runner-up – LI Tat Chi, HKIVE (Haking Wong)
Second runner-up – WONG Hon Seng, HKIVE (Haking Wong)

The top two winners will represent Hong Kong in the Mechatronics Competition at the 38th WorldSkills Competition.
