To support you in planning and preparing for the visit of your school or college to WorldSkills London 2011 we have produced a new guide.
Our Guide to the WorldSkills London 2011 Education Experience contains an overview of the WorldSkills London 2011 Competition, the range of associated activities and the learning opportunities at the event.
If you are planning to bring school pupils, college students or groups of visitors to the event it will be necessary to ensure that you have taken adequate steps to ensure that the visit is safe and enjoyable for you and your cohort.
These include (but are not limited to):
- Carrying out a detailed risk assessment covering: travel, the venue (ExCeL London), activities, group (ability, medical, behaviour, special needs) any other significant specific hazards
- Obtaining Parent/guardian/carer consent for the visit
- Planning for the supervision of group members (students, pupils etc) prior to and at the event itself
