[05] Mechanical Engineering Design - CAD
CAD stands for Computer Aided Design. It is used to produce design documentation in manufacturing, including product drawings, paperwork and 3D models. CAD has largely replaced conventional drawing boards. Computer-driven design enables drafters to modify plans more easily at the design stage and to produce accurate models of the product. Computers also reduce the risk of human error. CAD designers work in industrial design departments or design agencies. Professional CAD designers have to keep up with their industry's continuous development and new software. CAD designers are expected to draw up designs accurately and meticulously and to have acquired thorough understanding of their CAD software. |
