SENAI

Responsible for the organization of WorldSkills São Paulo 2015 is the National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI). SENAI is one of the five largest complexes of professional education in the world and the largest in Latin America. Its courses, offered throughout Brazil, qualify professionals for the development of different areas of Brazilian industry, from professional initiation to undergraduate and post-graduate technology.

SENAI fosters industrial innovation through consulting and encouraging corporate actions involving applied research and technical and technological services. Throughout its 72 years of existence, it has qualified more than 61 million professionals. In 2012, SENAI surpassed 775,000 enrolments in distance-education courses. Additionally, it's the Brazilian government's main partner in the National Program of access to Technical Education and Employment (Pronatec). Today, the institution is responsible for the majority of enrollments offered by the program.

Currently, SENAI has 817 units, from among fixed and mobile, in which professional training courses are taught and services provided in 28 industrial areas.

The institution has already participated in 16 WorldSkills Competitions and has expertise in organizing major competitions, such as its Olympics of Knowledge, the national stage, which ranks Competitors for the world. The National competition is the largest competition of professional education in the Americas, an initiative that has the support of over 50 businesses and organizations.

Abroad, SENAI maintains 75 international partnerships in 45 countries. In 2013, ten vocational training centres led by SENAI were operating in different countries around the world, demonstrating its strength and relevance in the sector.
