WorldSkills Calgary 2009 Overview


Over its 59-year history, the WorldSkills Competition has come to symbolize the pinnacle of excellence in skilled trades and technologies training.

Every two years, hundreds of young competitors from all over the world gather to compete in this international event. Over four days of competition, over 900 competitors drawn from 51 member countries/regions test themselves against tough international standards. They come to the WorldSkills Competition to prove they are the world's best.

Through intense competition in 45 skill categories, WorldSkills Calgary 2009 promotes excellence and encourages global competency standards within the skill, trade, and technology industries. WorldSkills Calgary 2009 will welcome the world through the 51 Member countries/regions of WorldSkills International.

The WorldSkills Competition draws hundreds of thousands of visitors including industry leaders, educators, Delegates, and technical Experts from around the world.
