Volunteer Resource Management Team

Maureen O'Hara-Leman - Volunteer Manager - maureen.ohara-leman@worldskills2009.com - 403-210-5963. As the lead in the Volunteer program Maureen works with the rest of the WorldSkills Calgary team to determine volunteer requirements and has created our overall Volunteer Plan. Maureen's spare time is spent helping with events for the Alpine and Ski Cross communities.

Laura Lee Crook - Volunteer Coordinator - lauralee.crook@worldskills2009.com - 403-774-5122. Laura Lee is organizing the Volunteer Parties, developing the volunteer manual and overseeing the Competition Administrative Assistant position. She is also involved with Volunteer Calgary and developing Volunteer Share programs. Laura Lee will spend her post-event time relaxing and mountain biking at Moab in Utah.

Geoff Schoenberg - Volunteer Coordinator - geoff.schoenberg@worldskills2009.com - 403-210-5872. Geoff has been focusing most of his efforts on recruitment and working with groups to promote awareness of the volunteer requirements. After the event is over, Geoff will be moving to Australia to pursue graduate studies at Deakin University.

Chantel Morrison - Volunteer Coordinator - chantel.morrison@worldskills2009.com - 403-774-5177. Chantel is busy working to develop the Team Host program. In addition to recruiting and screening volunteers, she has helped create posters advertising our volunteer program. As a member of the Mount Royal College Hockey team, Chantel stays in shape during the summer by playing rugby.

Rachael Bartle - Volunteer Coordinator - rachael.bartle@worldskills2009.com - 403-774-5178. Recruitment! That's been the motto of Rachael's work thus far. In addition to working with Chantel on the Team Host program, Rachael has been working with cultural centres throughout Calgary to expand our volunteer pool. A lover of the outdoors, you'll find Rachael skiing in the winter and riding her horses when she's not on the hill.

Jason Bank - Volunteer Data Management Coordinator - Jason.bank@worldskills2009.com - 403-774-5144. Our resident IT guy, Jason is in charge of managing our volunteer database and scheduling system. He's busy these days learning the Ameego scheduling system inside and out. Jason's interests outside of WorldSkills include playing with his band, eating copious amounts of sushi and playing XBOX under the tag "turqaun".

Kevin Forbes - Technical and Skilled Volunteer Coordinator - kevin.forbes@worldskills2009.com - 403-774-5127. Kevin works directly with the Workshop Supervisors to ensure that each workshop has ample skilled volunteers to run smoothly. Kevin is working at WorldSkills Calgary as a part of his studies in the Sport Management program at Mount Royal College.
