Opening Ceremony - Grandstand

Venue description:

WorldSkills Calgary 2009 will be using the Grandstand for the Opening Ceremony. The Grandstand is a multi-level facility used year-round for concerts, tradeshows, harness racing, banquets and the performing arts. With seating for over 17,000, the Grandstand annually hosts the Stampede Rodeo, the Chuckwagon races and the evening Grandstand Show portions of the Calgary Stampede.

Shows are performed on the state-of-the-art Grandstand Stage every night at the Calgary Stampede. Music, dance and special effects are all part of the experience in the Grandstand. An awesome choice for any entertainment experience in Calgary.



Closing Ceremony - Corral

Venue description:

WorldSkills Calgary 2009 will be using the Corral Arena for the Closing Ceremony.  This versatile venue has been host to top caliber events such as hockey games, concerts, ice skating shows, circuses and rodeos.  With a capacity of 6,000 seats, it will be a great venue to showcase the exciting finale and medal presentation of the 2009 competition.
