Central YMCA Qualifications will be providing an opportunity to Have a Go at health and fitness training - various exercises include Zumba and step classes, through the medium of 'silent disco' (visitors will be provided with head-sets so that they can hear the music but those watching can not).

Eco House

A life size house is being built across four days with apprentices doing all of the work. Visitors will be able to walk round a viewing area specially fenced for their safety, to get a close up look at the timber frames, wall structures, roofing and see cladding and electrics being installed. Be sure to include it in your visit to WorldSkills London 2011!

Hartlepool College Aircraft Engineering students will showcase flight marshalling in front of a giant simulated aircraft, visitors will see a jet respond to students signalling.

TV Production

A life size house is being built across four days with apprentices doing all of the work. Visitors will be able to walk round a viewing area specially fenced for their safety, to get a close up look at the timber frames, wall structures, roofing and see cladding and electrics being installed. Interactive Table

College of North West London Computing students will showcase an interactive table they have built. Visitors will be able to try it and test out other devices, and discover emerging technologies involved in the computing industry.

3D Virtual Learning

Barnfield Federation students will showcase projects developed in Second Life. A 3D virtual learning environment will be revealed, featuring graphics and game play elements specially designed by Academy Students.

Iron Casting Showcase

Iron Casting showcase by Coleg Sir Gar. Students will recreate the traditional environment in which iron melting and pouring takes place using materials such as scrap iron, melting cupolette, moulds and sand.

Barnfield Federation

Ceiling roses, cornices and moulds will be made by plastering students from Barnfield Federation. Heritage techniques to restore timber lath will be showcased and more regional techniques! 

Hartlepool College & the Dry Stone Walling Association

Hartlepool College & the Dry Stone Walling Association will be working together to build a decorative arch, and show visitors how walls on the moors and dales are repaired.

Green Works

Gwaith Gwyrdd (Green Works) by Coleg Harlech WEA(N). A Yurt built from wood sourced in Mid-Wales will be on display and demonstrations using traditional hand tools will be taking place.
