Graphic design is a discipline and skill that focuses on visual communication, design and presentation.

It involves producing ideas, creating layouts, digital editing, typography, producing graphics, typesetting, printing and presenting the final product or designs. Graphic designers use both creative and technical skills to produce design solutions in both 2D and 3D. Much of a graphic designer's trade is now executed on a computer, so expertise on industry software is essential.

About a quarter of all graphic designers are self employed, whereas others work for companies such as design and advertising agencies.
