IT Network Systems Administration

Information technology (IT) network support technicians assemble personal computers (PCs) and network devices, install tailor made IT systems and use a variety of operating systems and software.

Computers are an essential part of modern life in nearly all places of work; in fact the IT sector represents approximately 5% of the UK's total economy (e-skills 2008).

Inevitably, we all encounter problems occasionally and that is where IT PC/network support professionals step in.

IT PC/network support technicians assemble PCs and network devices, install tailor made IT systems and use a variety of operating systems and software.

They troubleshoot and interpret IT communications problems as well as providing technical support. It is a fast moving area so it is essential that professionals in this area keep at the cutting edge of their field.
