FESTO, a worldwide leader in automation and a world market leader in technical training and development, has joined WorldSkills Africa Swakopmund 2022 in the staging of a project aimed at engaging local schools in the area of STEM (a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach).
STEM education is about making connections across more than one discipline. When opportunities to learn math and science are intertwined with the concepts of technology and engineering in an interactive environment, student interest is sparked, communication and collaboration skills are developed, and student competence is fostered.
