WorldSkills Africa 2022 is delighted to announce Festo South Africa as a Platinum sponsor towards the staging of the WorldSkills Africa Swakopmund 2022 Skills Competition, scheduled to take place at Swakopmund, Erongo, from 28 March to 2 April 2022.

Delegates from the FESTO Didactic, Namibia Training Authority and WorldSkills Africa recently held a virtual signing ceremony to seal the agreement. The sponsorship comprises competition equipment, services and logistics support, amounting to approximately N$ 4.5 million.

As a global partner of the international skills movement for more than twenty years, FESTO  is now part of only the second event of its kind on the African continent.

According to NTA Acting Chief Executive Officer, Muvatera Ndjoze-Siririka, FESTO is a market leader in automation, including pneumatics and electronics, and also plays a key role in technical education and training.

“The young people competing at this event are the leading experts of tomorrow, which makes it all the more important that they work with the best equipment. WorldSkills Africa Swakopmund 2022 would like to thank FESTO for their generous support and collaboration. WorldSkills Africa Swakopmund 2022 is an excellent platform from which to forge meaningful connections with the FESTO brand,” says Ndjoze-Siririka.

FESTO South Africa Managing Director, Brett Wallace highlighted how FESTO was delighted in joining WorldSkills Africa 2022 in celebrating excellence and building a culture of skills by showcasing talent, engaging in capacity building, infusing best practices and fostering cooperation.

“An investment in WSAS2022 is indeed an investment in our continent’s most important natural resource – its people,” says Wallace.
