The Southeast
The Southeast Region of Brazil is composed of four states: Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and the state whose capital will host the 43rd WorldSkills Competition in 2015, São Paulo. It is here where several of the most visited attractions in the country are located.
“ São Paulo is the state whose capital will host the 43rd WorldSkills Competition ”
The beautiful surroundings of Rio de Janeiro make up one of the principal Brazilian postcards and are known worldwide, whether for its beaches, Copacabana and Ipanema neighborhoods, the Christ the Redeemer monument and, of course, Carnival. Music is one of the main attractions, with different styles: samba, pagode and funk, among others.
São Paulo is the largest financial centre in Brazil and boasts many cultural and entertainment centres. In Minas Gerais, the most important historical cities in Brazil are located such as Ouro Preto, Tiradentes and Diamantina, not to mention great waterfalls and traditional ethnic foods, such as feijão tropeiro and pão de queijo. Espírito Santo, in turn, attracts thousands of tourists every year for its pristine beaches and mountain regions.
