Experience the thrill of the skill.
You can read all you want about skilled professions. However, there's nothing like actually getting in there and trying it for yourself.
Skill City is a great way to introduce your child to a career in the skilled professions in a hands-on, dynamic way. Participants get to safely try their hand at some of the skills they'll see at WorldSkills Calgary 2009. It will give everyone a true appreciation of the talent involved to actually "make" something.
Skill City activities also encourage children to think about their future (you know how hard that can be) and the importance of finding a career that is financially and emotionally fulfilling to them. In other words, these experiential educational activities can help children find the right career for themselves.
At WorldSkills Calgary 2009, Skill City will be out in full force with 18 activities housed in the Skill City tent, along with many other activities interspersed throughout the competition venue. If there's a skill you want to try... it'll be there.
