Climate and Location of Japan


Located to the east of the Eurasian continent, the long and narrow islands of Japan stretch from north to south, from 20° to 46°N. The country lies mostly in the Temperate Zone, and has four distinct seasons. It takes about 12 hours to fly from Europe to Narita airport (Tokyo), and about 4 to 8 hours from Southeast Asia.

Description of Shizuoka Prefecture


Shizuoka Prefecture is located almost in the center of Japan. Beaches, mountains and lakes are just some of the natural features that abound. In fact, the area contains all the beautiful elements of Japan in miniature. Manufacturing industries, such as light motor vehicles, motorcycles and musical instruments, as well as advanced technologies such as electronics, have been concentrating their operations in Shizuoka Prefecture over recent years.

Numazu City


Numazu City is located about 100km from the Tokyo metropolitan area. It is blessed with natural gifts, such as a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji beyond the Oku-Suruga Bay and fresh seafood, as well as a warm climate and fertile land that produces such agricultural products as green tea and mikan (tangerines). As the city grows, it is maintaining a balance between tourism expertly utilizing the natural features of the area, commerce mainly in the eastern part of the city, and various industries, such as advanced technology.
