Beauty Therapy
As a Beautician (Kosmetiker) you will specialise in skin and body care, massage and make-up. You will be able to plan, apply and market face, body, feet and hand treatments as well as make-up. In addition you provide colour and style consultancy, conduct skin checks, assess the customers' bodies and offer advice for the selection and application of care products. For all this you will require knowledge in the areas of hygiene, anatomy and physiology as well as skin histology. As a professional in the cosmetic field you have to know the composition of care products in order to ensure the best treatment possible for your customers. Consulting on skin care requires knowledge in nutritional science and in the importance of sports, skin condition and hygiene.
Confectioner/Pastry Cook

(Konditor) is one of the biggest audience magnets of the competition.
As a confectioner you produce pralines, ice cream, cakes, desserts and marzipan figures as well as artistically designed chocolate and sugar showpieces. In this process you are also responsible for selecting the ingredients and for measuring and weighing them. You will process the ingredients either manually or with the help of tools, machines and forms. Another field of activity is the presentation of the products as well as sales and consulting to your customers.
Cooking
Cooks (Köche) are not only responsible for preparing and arranging dishes but also for establishing the menu, planning the purchase of the food and ingredients as well as their storage. In the kitchen you must be able to organise the work such that the dishes will be served to the guests in time and in the right order. Depending on the size of the business (restaurant, hotel, canteen, catering company, etc.) you will either prepare all dishes yourself or be responsible for the preparation of certain dishes (e.g. salads, fish, meat, side dishes).

Your tasks and activities are distinguished depending on the type and size of the business and on your position in the business, such as wine waiter and bartender, Chef de Rang (department manager), Maître d’hôtel (head waiter), Chef de Service (service manager) or banquet coordinator. The main part of your job is in any case the serving of food and drinks.
