WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 says THANK YOU!

From 2nd thru 7th July, WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 took place - the biggest vocational competition of its kind.

For four days, more than 1,000 participants from 53 countries and regions competed in 46 different Skills. All in all, 178 Competitors were bestowed gold, silver or bronze medals and 344 Competitors received Medals of Excellence.

Approximately 205,000 people visited WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 on the premises of Leipziger Messe and at the official events in the city. More than 1,000 accredited journalists from all over the world reported about the Competitions. Also, interest in the German system of dual education was overwhelming: The information tours to vocational schools and training centres for international Delegates and journalists were completely booked within just a few hours. Several hundred Experts from all over the world discussed future challenges about vocational education during numerous conferences, seminars, and meetings within the political frame program and got important initiatives such as the European Alliance for Education off the ground.

“WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 has set new benchmarks in all respects,” says Hubert Romer, CEO WorldSkills Leipzig 2013. “With more than 1,000 participants, they have been the biggest in the Competition’s history. We have heard only praise for the quality of the Competitions locations from Competitors as well as Experts. Never before did so many visitors make use of the WorldSkills Competition to get inspired by the young Competitors and to collect information on education and careers. Germany, Saxony, and Leipzig have presented themselves as excellent hosts for our visitors from all over the world.”

We owe thanks to many people for the great success of WorldSkills Leipzig 2013: to our Patrons, Sponsors and Partners, Delegates and Competitors from all over the world, to Experts, Workshop Supervisors and their Assistants, to 800 Volunteers, to our numerous visitors, to many representatives of the media as well as all other supporters.

Thank you so much for this unique experience!
